ITSO
CPS announced its membership of ITSO (Integrated Transport Smartcard Organisation) in November 2009, and since then CPS has been taking smart card ticketing to ever-higher levels.
ITSO-compliant smart card infrastructures deliver seamless travel to passengers across geographic boundaries, operators and transport modes in a quick, easy and hassle-free manner. But we wanted more...
Cheaper, easier AND greener
Working with regional authorities in the UK, CPS has integrated the identity technologies used in existing services such as libraries and leisure facilities into a single ITSO-compliant smart card, which is also compliant with the National Concessionary Travel System (ENCTS).
Unlike other providers, CPS is able to integrate legacy technologies such as Plessey barcodes and Telepen barcodes with modern ITSO-compliant smart cards. So there is no need to replace these legacy systems, which are often still effective in their own environments.
As a result CPS is delivering smart card solutions which are not only more cost effective and easier to manage, but which are more environmentally friendly as well:
- Citizens can access multiple services including transport, libraries, leisure and more from just one card.
- Councils can now manage a single card across multiple services, saving costs and other administrative overheads.
- Our environment benefits from a smaller carbon footprint.
Identity management solutions which really are cheaper, easier AND more environmentally friendly!
Our long experience and expertise in identity management, along with our in-house bureau and fulfilment centre in the UK, is what makes it possible for CPS to deliver these sorts of innovative and dynamic solutions to the challenges presented in identity management and ticketing systems.
CPS have been members of ITSO since November 2009.
